Aries Wu Chun-Yin

Born in Guangdong, China in 1985, Aries Wu Chun-Yin received his bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2007. In his early career, Wu mainly focused on sketching and has shifted to oil paintings after returning to Hong Kong. Based on traditional Western art, Wu’s works express his own feelings about life and convey the tranquil beauty of nature.

In his view, painting is the process of recording life and time, which link him closely with what is around him. He enjoys observing trivial things silently, finding traces of life in ordinary daily life. He perceives that after things and space go through time, they leave behind their own stories. Beauty lies precisely in the relationship between humans and objects.

Wu’s works were shown at Sun Museum Hong Kong, National Art Museum of China, ART TAIPEI 2014 and collected by the Department of Fine Arts at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Suzhou Art Museum and private collectors. He is currently a member of the Hong Kong Oil Painting Research Society, a full-time artist and an art instructor.
