Born in Hong Kong in 1999 and graduated from the Department of Computer Science in the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2021, Steven Tang is a self-taught artist raised in Hong Kong. Tang has never received professional training in art. With his love for painting, Tang specializes in colored pencils, pastels and oil paint. He enjoys re-creating facades of Hong Kong culture through his realistic style. His subject matter includes portraits, foods and animals. The astoundingly realistic feature, coupled with local elements, capture people’s hearts and invoke a sense of resonance among the Hong Kong audience. In 2019, Tang was invited as the representative of Hong Kong to visit the headquarters of Caran d’Ache in Switzerland, where his skills were highly appreciated.
After graduation, Tang worked as a fulltime artist. He established his own brand and art studio, working also as an art instructor. He has participated in and organized different art projects, including art group exhibitions, brand collaborations, school art workshops and painting courses. He hopes to realize his artistic dream step by step and promote Hong Kong’s culture and spirit through art, realizing his own life values.
