The fleeting days of childhood, never to return, leave behind our most cherished memories. Artspace K presents “Childhood in Ceramic” Exhibition. Three celebrated ceramic artists from Taiwan – Ah Leon (Chen Ching-Liang), Lee Chin-Sheng and Leo Tang (Tang Shou-Nan) awaken memories of innocence and joy of childhood through sculptures created from the natural warmth of clay.

Exhibition Lecture 特展講座
There is a diversity of clay used in contemporary ceramic art, each with a unique feature. The effects, such as color and texture on the surface of the finished ceramics, vary according to the difference in clay applied and firing temperature ranges after glazing. In his lecture, Mr. Alan Lai will introduce different types of clay and glaze in contemporary ceramic art, hoping to expand the appreciation of the “Childhood in Ceramic” exhibition artworks with basic knowledge from a technical level.
Shaping of clay can be done in various ways in contemporary ceramic art, including pinching, wheel throwing, carving and more. In the lecture, Ms. Winnie Lo will introduce to the audience shaping techniques in ceramic art creation and the tools used. She will also share creative concepts on shaping, allowing the audience to a gain a deeper understanding about the “Childhood” exhibition works from the perspective of pottery shaping.
